We have rented a seven-person bus, that will enable us to transport the refugees coming into Lesbos on boats, from arrival gate at the seaport in Lesbos to the departure gate on the other end of the island, which on foot will take approximately […]. It is a long way to walk when you are hungry, tired and/or have a child or are a kid yourself.
We are very aware and conscious about the state of mind these individuals arrive with - they may likely not be only physically exhausted, but also psychologically drained and perhaps traumatized - and we will theref strive to create an atmosphere of ease, composure comfort and safety; an overall ambience of a peaceful sanctuary. We will also aim to recharge them physically with the most basic everyday supplies of:
- Clothes and shoes
- Hygiene-related products
- Infant formula
etc. and snacks (like energy bars) and water.
